Seven countries including India have confirmed their participation in the eight-country Asia Cup Baseball scheduled to be held at Sports Complex, Islamabad from May 18 to 25.

Pakistan Baseball Federation Secretary Khawar Shah said that besides India, the other countries, which have confirmed their participation, are Hong Kong, Thailand, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Iran.

Pakistan is holding the event for the second time.

The last time it was held in Islamabad in 2006 in which Pakistan claimed the title.

The Asian Baseball Federation would also provide coaching assistance to Pakistan to field a strong team in the event.
