World Spice Food Festival starts off in Colombo

The official launch ceremony of the World Spice Food Festival was held yesterday,26th October 2011 at the Mt. Lavinia Hotel at 7.30 p.m.The occasion was graced by the participation of contesting hoteliers in Colombo, celebrity chefs from various countries and local sponsors and the officials representing Sri Lanka Tourist Board.

Highlight of the World Spice Food Festival is scheduled to take place at the Green Path from tomorrow- 28th to 30th October 2011. The Hawker’s street special allows visitors and food lovers to participate in the event with easy access and facility of browsing through international theme cuisines food stalls along with

friends and families. The Green Path venue will take on a festive air with live music and cookery demonstrations starting from tomorrow 28th Oct from 6.00 p.m. onwards. Sri Lankan crab cooking competition and special cultural performances giving a truly unforgettable dining experience awaits for the visitors who participate for the street festival. The organisers warmly welcome all general public to be part of this exciting culinary experience and explore wide range of food varieties on offer at the festival.
