Mr_SchmidtGoogle has downplayed privacy fears after it was revealed that its Street View cars had been harvesting data from private wi-fi networks.

The search giant's boss said that he hoped no one would be prosecuted.

Eric Schmidt said that there was "no, harm, no foul", after the firm admitted that it had been collecting snippets of web activity from people's wi-fi.

E_BooksGoogle is set to launch its own online e-book store in 2010.

Google Editions books will not be tied to a specific device, unlike rival e-book company Amazon.

The Amazon Kindle is linked to books from the company's own store and similarly with Apple's iBookstore.

apple_iphone_4G_rectangular_april_2010US technology website Gizmodo had been keeping quiet over the weekend while its archrival Engadget sucked in the pageviews over the leading story of THAT iPhone 4G smartphone being discovered in a bar in SF.

Turned out that Gizmodo managed - somehow - to get their hands on the said iPhone and did a pretty good job at reviewing, analysing, taking pictures and even making a mini video review of the device.

Nokia launches first open source Symbian phone PDF Print E-mail

NokiaThe first handset to use the Symbian operating system since it became open source has been announced by Nokia.

The N8 phone has a 12 megapixel camera and allows people to record and edit High Definition video clips, as well as watch web TV services.

Analysts said the phone was a "pivotal device" in efforts "to make Nokia's high end phones credible again".
